4 Stars Good and Fast Card Reader
I use SanDisk Extreme III CF cards and this reader has worked well with them on the maiden transfers. For normal operation I would give this 5 stars. However, every so often we have to deal with abnormal situations and a star was lost here. I had a card that was corrupted and tried to use the included recovery software to get the pictures back. The software could not access the pictures with this reader;it showed there was nothing on the 16 GB card. However if i hooked my digital picture frame to the computer and used it to read the card…the recovery software recovered 99% of the pictures. Go figure. I would still recommend this card reader as it performs really well for day to day use. (the above situation occurred because i tried to remove 4gb to a cd to make room for more pictures on vacation….the computer changed the format of the card and rendered it useless to the camera & card reader. Lucky for me I could retrieve the pictures with my digital picture frame and then reformatted the card in my camera so it could be used again)

This is an excellent reader. Works like magic in Linux (and Windows). Got it very quickly in excellent condition from shipper.

The San Disk SDDRX3-CF-31 works fine. I was disappointed that when it arrived I found that the USB was NOT contained within the unit. Instead, it is packaged with a cord. No big deal, but it would have been nice to see the cord included in the photograph of the product. If you don’t mind an extra wire, its a fine Reader to purchase.
5 Stars Super Fast
I have for about 3 years been hobbling along with my Lexar all in one reader it was sooo slow if it were a person it would take 2 hours to watch 60 mins. The new San Disk reader is so fast I can load files to the hard drive while in front of my computer without falling asleep.
5 Stars does exactly what it says
This is a super downloader. It is well built, feels solid, downloads very quickly and with it’s little rubber foot, does’nt slide around. I’ve got 2 of them as I download 8gb cards regularly.
I’ve had a few other brands that did not download so quick, and I’m very happy with this.
The cards go in and out easily, and feel secure and well locked in when pressed into the reader.
