I will primarily use this case for backpacking, so I was looking for something more durable and secure than the other Leica/Panasonic options.

I use this case for my LX-3 and it fits very well. With the lens protruding about 1/2″ from the camera body there is also room for the strap (which I won’t be using) or a couple of batteries. Very well made and a simple belt loop on the back. Not cheap, but excellent quality and shipping from DB Roth was via USPS and took about a week.

Case just arrived (very fast shipping from DB Roth) and exceeded my expectations. It’s not actually black, but a deep grey/blue color – very classy and understated. Because its not “fitted” it happily accepts my D-Lux 4, which is a wee bit bigger than the D-Lux 3, with enough room to tuck in a wrist strap and a little pocket for an SD card or two. Inner lining is super-soft and plushy; outside is hardy cordura. Good quality plastic clasp and heavy duty, wide (over an inch) shoulder strap, which can be removed if you like. All-in-all a great alternative to the $150 fitted leather cases for the D-Lux 4 for about one-third the price.

Very large case for such a small camera. Has a pocket for an extra SD card or two, but nowhere to put an extra battery. Strap is very wide and uncomfortable. Very well made, very impractical. I returned mine.
