Perpetrators

  • Most of the services available to people who have committed sexual assault are in the form of treatment provided during the correctional process.
  • Services are also offered in the community to people who have committed a sexual offence, regardless of when they committed it (recently or in the past). These services may be obtained as part of correctional sentences or following referrals or voluntary requests for assistance.
  • People who are concerned about their sexual behaviour or are experiencing problems because of it, or who are worried that they will commit a sexual offence should know that they have access to services from certain community organizations and general public social services.
